About me

I am associate professor in pure mathematics at the University of Exeter. I was previously fellow and college lecturer in pure mathematics at St. John's College, Cambridge. Before that, I was stipendiary lecturer in pure maths at St. Hugh's College, Oxford. In August 2007, I finished as a graduate student in the mathematics department at Cornell University where my supervisor was Ravi Ramakrishna. For the 2006-07 academic year, I visited Cornelius Greither at Universität der Bundeswehr München, Germany. I am originally from Jersey in the Channel Islands.

Research Interests

Algebraic number theory and related topics, including: the equivariant Tamagawa number conjecture (ETNC), Iwasawa theory, Galois module theory, computational number theory, noncommutative Fitting invariants, and integral representation theory.

The Great Western Number Theory Seminar

The next Great Western Number Theory Seminar will take place in Bath on Tuesday 16th January 2024. For more information, click here.

Graduate Course

Here are some rough notes from a graduate course I taught on Galois Modules. Comments and corrections welcome.

Workshop on Stark's conjectures, Iwasawa theory and related topics

Andreas Nickel and I organised a workshop on Stark's conjectures, Iwasawa theory and related topics, which took place 3rd-5th September 2018 at the University of Exeter. Click here for more information.

Hopf-Galois Theory and Galois Module Structure Workshop

Click here for more information on this workshop, which was held 23rd - 26th June, 2015 at the University of Exeter.
