University of Exeter

Monday 3rd to Wednesday 5th September 2018

Funding for PhD students (deadline 31st May 2018)

We have limited funding for PhD students in the form of free registration including breakfast, lunch and coffee breaks on 3rd, 4th, 5th September, accommodation in Pennsylvania Court for nights of 2nd, 3rd and 4th September, and workshop dinner. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide any funding for travel. To apply to for this funding, the PhD supervisor should send an email to Henri Johnston ([first initial] dot [last name] at exeter.ac.uk) with the subject header “PhD student funding for Stark-Iwasawa workshop”, briefly explaining the student's PhD topic and why the workshop would be useful to them. The student's full name, email address, anticipated graduation year and affiliation should be included.

Important: if you are applying for funding, please do not register as below, as we will be unable refund any payments made via the webstore. Applicants will be notified as to whether they have been successful soon after the deadline and there will still be plenty of time to register as usual if not.

Registration (deadline 30th June 2018)

Important: invited speakers and PhD students applying for funding should not register via the link below.

Participants can register via the Exeter online webstore here.

There are two options: “Registration with accommodation” (cost £270) and “Registration without accommodation” (cost £135). Both options include lunch and coffee breaks on 3rd, 4th, 5th September and workshop dinner (on the evening of either Monday 3rd or Tuesday 4th September - details to be decided). The “with accommodation” option also includes en-suite accommodation in Pennsylvania Court for nights of 2nd, 3rd and 4th September, as well as breakfast on the mornings of 3rd, 4th and 5th September.

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide accommodation on the night of Wednesday 5th September (the workshop will finish by early afternoon that day), but participants are welcome to organise their own accommodation as below.

Alternative accommodation

Those who have registered via the “without accommodation” option and / or require accommodation for dates different from the nights of 2nd, 3rd and 4th September can organise their own accommodation.

The University of Exeter's where to stay webpage has several useful links.

The Park View Hotel is a bed and breaskfast within easy walking distance of the univeristy.

Please feel free to contact Henri Johnston ([first initial] dot [last name] at exeter.ac.uk) for further information.
