Infinite Dimensional Dynamical SystemsAn International Workshop |
Dynamics for infinite dimensional dissipative systems
Organiser: Peter Ashwin (Exeter)
This session brings together a number of international experts who will speak on recent developments in, and perspectives for the future of, the dynamics of infinite dimensional dissipative systems. There will be a focus on existence and dynamical properties of attractors as well as other stability issues for infinite dimensional pattern forming dynamical systems. The session will examine specific PDE systems to see what we can learn in general about pattern forming systems.Speakers:
Alan Champneys: Kinks, pulses and multipulses, an overview of localised patterns
Ian Melbourne (University of Surrey): Function space questions in Ginzburg-Landau theory.
Bjoern Sandstede (Ohio State, USA): Defects in oscillatory media --- towards a classification
