Infinite Dimensional Dynamical Systems

An International Workshop

Robustness and pseudospectra

Organisers: Diederich Hinrischsen (Bremen), Tony Pritchard (Warwick)

Robustness has been a key area in control in the last two decades. More recently connections have neen made between robust control and pseudospectra (i.e. spectral value sets) and the related notions of numerical range. This session will discuss the latest developments in robust infinite-dimensional control, pseudospectra and numerical range. Topics covered will include a survey of pseudospectra by E. B Davies; Approximation of pseudospectra and spectral value sets; Pseudospectra and numerical ranges of unbounded linear operators; Exponential growth rates and robust stability under time-varying perturbations; Structured pseudospectra of Toeplitz matrices; Pseudospectra under real-valued perturbations.

Speakers: Titles
