WELCOME TO NRWS, THE PROGRAM DESIGNED TO SELECT FEASIBLE RURAL WATER SUPPLY SOURCES FOR THE NILGIRIS DISTRICT OF SOUTH INDIA Hardware Requirements NRWS has been developed to run without the use of complex hardware and software, but must meet the following requirements. Operating System: Windows 98 or higher Processor: Pentium P100 or greater Memory: 32 Megabytes or greater (less memory is possible, but will slow down the rate at which those components that involve large data inputs will be displayed on the screen). Hard Drive: Minimum of 5 Megabytes of free space Monitor: SCGA colour monitor (while usable on monochrome monitors, certain features will be hard to see unless colour is available). Screen Mode: 800x600 pixels, with 256 colours as a minimum. 16 bit (65,000 colours) or greater is recommended. CD ROM: Standard EIDE CD-ROM Drive Software: Microsoft Excel and Word Version 2000 or higher Installation of the software is carried out by copying the entire contents of this zip file into a new folder titled "NRWS" in the Program Files section of the hard drive. As such, the program path should read as follows ==> C:\Program Files\NRWS Within the NRWS folder, copy the following Word documents into a new folder titled : Check Dam Dug Well Rainwater Harvesting Reservoir Spring Water Demand Next, copy the following Word documents and file folder into a new folder titled : Module 1 (this is the newly created file folder containing the able 6 word documents) Module 2 Module 3 Module 4 Module 5 To begin applying NRWS to a village application, open the Microsoft Excel File titled 'NRWS' and save the application village in a familar location for easy accessibility. A link on the main menu of NRWS directs you on how to begin, and there is a help-file for every module in a customized help menu. GOOD LUCK!
