DESCRIPTION OF THE SUPPLEMENTAL VIDEO FILES

All Fig*.mpg files are MPEG videos, with the names corresponding to figures in the manuscript (see the links below)

The cases to note:

• Movies Fig3A.mpg, Fig3B.mpg, Fig4A.mpg, Fig4B.mpg are stroboscopic, i.e. only show selected images, as explained in the text.
• Fig2A.mpg, Fig2B.mpg: the shocks are applied at t =70 ms which is different from the case shown in the figures 2A and 2B in the manuscript where the shocks were applied at t =10 ms.
• Fig3B.mpg: the movie stops for a while between the three stages of the simulation, corresponding to the three panel rows of figure 3B.
• Fig6A.mpg: the evolution leading to the infinite loop is shown, as well as the loop itself.
• Fig6B.mpg: only the infinite loop is shown.
• Fig7B.mpg: the moment of switch from delay 0 to delay of 30 ms is designated.
